A product slider for a candle shop, burning down
Sample shop. Slow Burn, its products and its prices are made up.
One flame, six jars
Why burn for candles
There are not many products where a transition can be this literal and get away with it. The picture burns away along an uneven front with a glowing edge, and the next candle is what remains. The room is dark because a burn needs darkness to work: the same ember on white paper reads as a stain, which is why half the photos here are shown against aubergine rather than on white.
The second section uses sweep, which takes the same burn across a whole grid at once, passing over the gaps. Scent is what people are really buying, and no slider can show it. Words do that job here, so the names stay plain and large. Keep this one off autoplay in the checkout path. It is for the home page.

Questions
Does burn work on light product photos?
Less well, as the glow needs contrast. Use your darker photos in this slider, or shoot a set against a dark background.
Could I use a free effect instead?
Ripple or fade. Neither looks like fire, but both stay gentle, and a simple fade between candle photos is a good match for the product too.
Is it too theatrical for a small shop?
If used once, no. Put it at the top of the home page, and use plain cards on your category pages.
