A product slider for a furniture shop, drawn to scale

Room by room
Why push for furniture
Furniture is heavy, and it is expensive, and its buyers think in centimetres. A transition that melts a sofa works against all three. Push does the simplest thing possible: there is a row of chairs, and you moved along it. The camera steps back a little as it goes, which gives the piece some weight and makes the room feel like a room.
Room scenes also have real depth, which is rare in product photography. That is what parallax needs, and it is free, so the second row uses it. Sizes sit beside the price because a chair that does not fit is an expensive return. The page borrows the look of a floor plan to say the same thing.
How to build this
- Product Slider
- One at a time, Push, around 900 ms. Free users can take Zoom or Fade here.
- Effect
- Parallax on a row of room scenes, with less zoom on tight crops.
- Product Stage
- Side thumbnails and a lightbox, as buyers will want to look into the corners.

Questions
What suits large room photos?
Parallax for rows, push or zoom for one at a time. Avoid anything that distorts the shape strongly, as the shape is what people are judging.
Can I show dimensions on a slide?
Text on a slide is ordinary HTML, so short descriptions and attributes can appear in the card and stay sharp while the image moves.
Is coverflow a good choice for furniture?
For a small hand-picked set it works, as the Furniture coverflow pattern shows. It is less useful when people are comparing many similar pieces.
