The same stage with thumbnails down the side and a tall 4:5 picture, on a calm colour. It flatters tall products such as clothes or lamps, and it leaves room for more thumbnails than a row underneath.
Set the background colour to something your photos can sit on. Then test on a phone, where side thumbnails move below the picture.
