What the picture does when someone points at it
One setting in the Product Slider block, with three answers: the second picture of the product, a closer look at the first, or none. For the second picture you also choose how it comes in. Try them below. Free
Second picture
This is the default. The picture fades to the first image in the product's gallery and stays there until the pointer leaves, which shows a visitor the back of a jacket or a jar with its lid off without a click. A product with no gallery image simply keeps its one picture, so a row with a few of those still works. A second setting, the effect of the second picture, decides how it comes in: a fade, or a real transition such as distance, ripple or zoom. Fade, distance, ripple and zoom are free, and more transitions come with Pro. Only the card being pointed at draws anything.
Closer look
The picture moves in slightly, inside its own frame, and goes back when the pointer leaves. It needs nothing but the one photo, so it is the choice for a range where the gallery images are uneven, or where they are mostly packaging. The card itself keeps its size, and nothing around it moves.
None, and what takes over
None leaves the picture still, which suits a design that is busy on hover by itself, or a row of pure price comparison. When an effect on the images is switched on, the effect takes the place of this setting, as the block tells you in its sidebar. On a touch screen there is no pointing, so the first picture stays.
Questions
Does the second picture slow the page down?
It is an extra image per card, loaded lazily like the first one, so it only arrives when the card comes near the screen. A transition draws only on the card being pointed at.
Is this the same as the Morph Card hover?
No. The Morph Card morphs on a canvas with a transition of your choice. This setting belongs to the plain picture in a Product Slider, whose canvas exists only while a card is pointed at.
