Magnify effect for WooCommerce product sliders
Move your pointer over the picture, or drag a finger across it. Change its size on a product card.
A lens sits under the pointer and bends the picture inside it. There is no box, no zoom window to the side: the photo itself swells where you are looking.
It answers the real question a shopper has, which is what that bit looks like up close, in the same spot as the question.
Comes with Pro. Pro starts at $19 a year.
Put it on
- Watches and fine detail
- Dial printing and engraving: the details people pay for.
- Fabrics and weaves
- Being able to run a lens along a seam says more than a sentence on stitch count.
- Large photos from a good camera
- Sharp source photos reward the look.
Keep it off
- Soft or small source files
- It magnifies a 600 px image into mush, which you would rather not advertise.
- Phones, as the main way to inspect
- There is no hover on a touchscreen. Use the lightbox on the Product Stage block for that.
Settings
In the block, the Pointer panel has two sliders, Size and Strength, from 0 to 100, with 50 at these defaults.
In the block, in three steps
- Add the Product Slider block to your page, and under Products choose hand-picked products.
- Open the Pointer panel in the sidebar, and pick Magnify as the effect. It comes with Pro.
- Run it over the smallest detail in your best photo. If it looks soft, supply larger images before you switch this on.
