Label, a small piece of paper on the picture
A small label with a soft shadow sits low on the picture, centred, and it is only as wide as the name needs. Point at the card and the label opens downwards to show the button. Pro
Why it feels different
Most of the picture stays visible, and the label looks placed there by hand, like a tag in a shop window. It suits fashion, gifts and small brands, where a row should feel made rather than generated. Each label takes its width from its own product name, so a row has a little natural variation.
What happens on hover
At rest the label holds two centred lines, the name and the price. When pointed at, or when a keyboard reaches the card, the button unfolds inside the label, and the card does not change size. On touch screens the button is always open, so check on a phone that the label does not cover too much at your card size.
Colours and shadows
The paper is your theme's base colour and the text its contrast colour. The shadow is fixed and soft, so that the label lifts off a pale photo as well as a dark one. A long name is cut with an ellipsis instead of growing past the card, which keeps every label inside its picture.
Questions
Can a keyboard user reach the button?
Yes. The label opens when anything in the card holds the focus, as well as under the pointer.
Can the label stay hidden until pointed at?
Yes. Choose when pointed at, and the picture stays bare until then. On a touch screen the label always shows.
