Frame, a picture with a little air around it
A thin line runs around the whole card with some space inside it, like a mat around a print. Name, price and button sit centred underneath, and the line darkens when the card is pointed at. Pro
What the frame does
It gathers the picture and its details into one object, which helps when photos have pale backgrounds that would otherwise melt into the page. The line is a quarter strength of your text colour, so that it stays quiet, and it takes that colour in full under the pointer. That is the only movement, and it is a small one.
Where it fits
Prints, stationery, ceramics, anything sold on being considered. Centred type reads slower than type set to the left, which is a good thing in a gallery and a poor one in a long list where people compare prices. Three or four in view gives the frames enough width to look intentional.
Long names and equal cards
The name stays on one line and ends in an ellipsis if it runs past the frame, so every card keeps the same height and the buttons stay in line. The border and the inner space count inside the height of the card, which is why a row of them never jumps out of step.
Questions
Can I change the colour of the line?
It follows your text colour, so a dark theme gets a pale line without any setting.
Does it show ratings?
No. Frame keeps to the name, the price and the button.
