Shelf, the name and price on a thin rule
Under the picture a thin rule runs across the card, like the edge of a shelf. The name sits on it at the left, the price at the right, and below them is an underlined link rather than a button. Pro
How a row reads
The prices line up along the right edge of every card, so a row can be compared at a glance, the way a menu can. Without a filled button the row has no blocks of colour to fight the pictures, and that suits coffee, tea, books and other ranges that sell on calm and on detail.
A link that still sells
The add to cart stays on every card and works like any other, but it looks like a text link in your theme's colour, and the underline moves a little when pointed at. If a row has to push a sale, choose a design with a filled button instead. Shelf is for when the pictures should do the talking.
Long names and sale prices
Name and price share the line while they fit. When a name is long or a sale price needs more room, the price drops to the line below, and the name is not cut to keep it there. Read through your longest names, and show three or four cards in view rather than five, if you want the prices to stay in one column.
Questions
How wide should the cards be?
Wide enough for your usual name and your price with a little air. Three or four in view on a desktop is a good place to start.
Does it show ratings?
No. A rating or a short description has no place on the line, so Shelf leaves them out.
